The moderator, Benny Ge, not only studied for his master's degree at the university but also worked as a research assistant, lecturer, and administrative employee at the university. He therefore understands the role of a moderator at a university event from almost every perspective. He knows how moderation can support learning and academic debate. In his view, poor event moderation at university events, however, leads to incorrectly focused topics and a superficial university event. Moderierst du sowohl Preisverleihungen als auch Galas?
Ja. Ich moderiere klassische Award-Verleihungen ebenso wie Unternehmensgalas, Jubiläumsveranstaltungen, Ehrungen, Charity-Events und festliche Abendveranstaltungen. Dabei passe ich meinen Moderationsstil immer an Anlass, Publikum und Atmosphäre der Veranstaltung an.
Unterstützt du auch bei der Konzeption einer Preisverleihung?
Ja. Auf Wunsch begleite ich bereits die Konzeption des Programms. Gemeinsam überlegen wir, wie sich wiederkehrende Programmpunkte abwechslungsreich gestalten lassen, wie Spannung aufgebaut wird und wo Raum für spontane oder emotionale Momente entstehen kann. So wird aus einer Abfolge von Ehrungen eine Veranstaltung mit eigener Dramaturgie.
Wie sorgst du dafür, dass eine Preisverleihung nicht eintönig wird?
Viele Award-Shows folgen einem ähnlichen Ablauf. Genau deshalb achte ich auf abwechslungsreiche Übergänge, lockere Interaktionen mit dem Publikum und authentische Gespräche mit Laudator:innen oder Preisträger:innen. So entsteht ein natürlicher Rhythmus, der den Abend lebendig hält – ohne den feierlichen Charakter zu verlieren.
Moderierst du auch Veranstaltungen mit prominenten Gästen?
Ja. Ob prominente Gäste aus Politik, Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft oder Entertainment – ich habe bereits mit Persönlichkeiten wie Robert Habeck, Jan Delay, Oliver Kahn, Philipp Amthor, Michael Kretschmer und Collien Fernandes auf der Bühne gestanden. Eine sorgfältige Vorbereitung und journalistische Gesprächsführung sorgen dafür, dass Gespräche authentisch wirken und sich meine Gäste auf der Bühne wohlfühlen.
Wie gehst du mit engen Zeitplänen um?
Gerade bei Galas und Preisverleihungen ist ein präzises Zeitmanagement entscheidend. Ich habe den Ablauf jederzeit im Blick, reagiere flexibel auf Verzögerungen und sorge dafür, dass die Veranstaltung professionell und im vorgesehenen Zeitrahmen umgesetzt wird.
Moderierst du auch auf Englisch?
Ja. Internationale Galas, Award-Shows und Preisverleihungen moderiere ich ebenfalls auf Englisch.
